General

1. What is closr?

ClosR is an online service which allows you to upload high resolution pictures and make them zoomable and browsable without requiring the user any large bandwidth.
For better understanding how it works, keep in mind the common virtual maps: you can be interested in viewing the whole city, the quarter, or the street.
In the same way, ClosR allows you to focus on the side of the picture you are interested in and view it without any image quality loss.

2. Is ClosR free?

Everyone can try ClosR and use it for free for non commercial uses.
Anyway, there are also some addictional features, thought for enterprises and professionals, which allow you to further customize the service, granting no limitations. Contact us for getting further information.

3. Why uploading with ClosR?

ClosR gives you a practical, sharable and customizable widget, compatible with the most social networks.
ClosR allows you to manage and present very big pictures into the size you best prefer, for better presenting them and making them easily viewable by your target.
ClosR widget technology allows a quick and fluid Web browsing with minimum loading time.

4. What can I do with the pictures found on ClosR?

You can easily embed the widgets you like in your profile, use them for consultation and share them with your friends.

5. Are there any legal/privacy limitations in the use of the service?

When registering the service, each user subscribes a list of terms and conditions, which prevent ClosR users from uploading offensive or rights managed material.

6. Are there any technical limitations in using the service?

You can use ClosR till the bandwidth and/or the storage used by your widgets don't exceed the average consumption. Anyway, feel free to contact us for any needs.

7. On which browsers does Closr.it run?

We tested it on several browsers both Mac, Linux and PC. It seems that Opera is not so good yet.

Account

1. Is the registration necessarily required for using the service?

Yes, it is. The registration is absolutely free and the data privacy highly protected.
The whole registration process is very quick and, once accomplished, allows users to immediately start creating their own widget.

2. What if I forgot my password?

You can get a new password by clicking on the item “Lost your password?” located in the Login section. You'll be asked to insert back your e-mail address, then a new password will soon be sent to you.

3. What if I want to change my username, my e-mail or my password?

You can change your subscription data everytime you need to, after having been registered. Click on the item “Change your data” and update the form with your new data.

4. Do I always have to login for using the service?

No, if you are using the same browser on you computer your login data are memorized using the "remember me" feature, so that you can always enter the service without accessing to the home page every time.

5. How can I delete my account?

To delete your account you can send us an email to [email protected], asking to remove it. In next releases of ClosR you could do it by yourself.

6. Can I manage more than one account?

Unfortunally no. As defined by our Terms and Conditions you could have just one single account.

Upload

1. What kind of picture formats are supported by ClosR?

ClosR uniquely supports jpg, png and gif formats.

2. Why does ClosR reject the picture I want to upload?

Check your file format and be sure it is correctly named: ClosR uniquely accepts jpg, png and gif formats.

3. How many pictures can I upload?

Free accounts let users upload a big number of pictures. We'll inform you if you are overheading the average limit.

4. What is the maximum and minimum size of the picture I choose to upload?

The size of the picture you can upload is almost unlimited (up to 100 MB).
There is no minimum size of the picture you can upload.

5. Why do I see two loader bars after having uploaded my picture?

When you create a new widget, you will see two loader bars: the first one refers to the uploading process of the selected image, the following one refers to the time the widgets takes for being created.

6. Can I leave the page while my widget is being created?

During the first loading process you cannot leave the page, or your file will be rejected; during the second loading process, which usually takes more time than the previous one, you can even leave the page: you always have a status update on your widgets list ;)

Manage

1. How can I find the widget I created?

You can click on "Manage your widgets"; here, you find the full list of the widget you created, sortable for "newest" and "oldest".
In next releases, you'll be able to browse your widgets by using TAGs you associated to each of your widgets.
Then, click on the button "View" for seeing the widget.

2. Why cannot I still view the widget I created?

After having uploaded the picture, the system may take some time for correctly creating your widget. Please wait a few minutes, then visit back the "Manage your widgets" section.

3. I cannot find my widget anymore, why?

Your widget has probably been removed by ClosR administrators.
This can be due to the fact the uploaded picture was right managed or offensive.
You can help us in reporting any abuse you may encounter in any ClosR widgets.

4. Why do ClosR rejected my widget?

See above.

5. How can I edit again the information about my widget?

Click on the item "Manage your widgets", check the widget you're interested in and press the "Edit" button; you will access to the widget editing page, where you can edit the information as many times as you need.

6. How can I delete my widget?

Click on the item "Manage your widgets", check the widget you're interested to and press the "Delete" button; after that you should confirm the action.

Widget

1. Can I choose the starting visualization of my widget?

Yes, you can: when editing your widget information, browse inside the picture until you reach the desired configuration, then press the "Save it" button: your widget's starting visualization will be the one you saved.

2. Can I download the ClosR widgets on my computer?

No, you cannot. Users can only post, embed, share or link it.

3. Can I or anyone grab the picture inside the widget?

No, the picture visualized in your widget is not grabable.

4. Is there a public place where everyone can see my widget?

Yes, once you created your widget, it is possible to see it in a specific url linking to a ClosR public page. You can access to the widget public profile by copying and pasting the url contained in the widget or by pressing the "View" button in the "Manage your widgets" section.

5. How can I get to the public profile of my widget?

See above.

6. Why do I have to add textual information to my widget?

Yes, if you like ;)

7. How can I share my widget with my friends?

You can choose to share your widget in multiple ways.
Click on the first button of the widget in the toolbar below: here, you can choose whether: to copy and paste the url to the ClosR widget public page into your websites, posts, comments and e-mails; to copy and paste the code of the ClosR widget and embedding it into websites, posts and comments; to embed the widget into your profile, supporting the most popular social network.

8. Where do I can post my widget?

See above.

9. What if I want to enlarge the widget area?

For modifying the widget ratio, you need to change the numeric values inside the code released for embedding, parameters "width" and "height", pixel unit.

10. Can I see the widget in fullscreen mode?

Yes, you can. By clicking on the last button of the ClosR widget in the toolbar below, you get a fullscreen browsable view of the picture.

11. I wasn't able to post my widget, why?

Check again you copied and pasted the right code.
If the pasted code is right, the host of your profile, blog or website may not support ClosR technology. Please report us the problem and we will provide in verifying the widget compatibility with the platform you use.

Features

1. How can I zoom in or zoom out the picture?

Each widget control can be executed both by the mouse and by the keyboard. Here in detail:
ZOOM IN
Mouse: use the scroll wheel going forward or click keeping the space key pressed. Double click on the widget area to focus on a single point.
Visual controls: click on the "+" icon on the top-right area.
Keyboard: click the "top" arrow keeping the space key pressed.
ZOOM OUT
Mouse: use the scroll wheel going backward or click keeping the space key pressed.
Visual controls: click on the "-" icon on the top-right area.
Keyboard: click the "down" arrow keeping the space key pressed.

2. How can I rotate the picture?

Keyboard: click the "left/right" arrow keeping the space key pressed.
Visual controls: we are still thinking about the best solution. If you have any suggestions, drop us an email ;)

3. How can I move inside the picture?

Mouse: drag and release the mouse.
Visual controls: click on the arrows on the top-right area.
Keyboard: click on the arrows.

4. After having finished my navigation, can I turn back to the original view ?

Visual controls: click on the second icon of the ClosR widget in the toolbar below.

5. Are there any keyboard shortcuts for browsing the widget?

Each ClosR widget control can be executed through mouse, visual controls and keyboard. See above for further information.

6. Can I remove or resize the ClosR toolbar?

You can, by subscribing to a premium account. Please contact us for getting more information.

7. Can I hide the widget controls?
